Corey @ 80.5 Pounds

Corey is doing better with the infection in his wrist the swelling has gone done , but its still painful for him to walk on!

COREY UPDATE

Just got Corey home.
He is still sleepy from getting knocked out and having Xrays and some other test done.He is in pain and can't put any weight on his leg.
It was a long night followed by a very long day!

Corey Update

COREY IS ON HIS WAY TO THE VETS!
During the night he was crying in terrible pain and when i got up he could'nt put any wieght on his bad leg.I dont have any idea of what happened.

NEO UPATE

NEO is up and walking on his feet again.he is still weak and wobbly but we hope he will recover from this!
We call him the miracle dog now!
It was also a great birthday gift for Neil which was on September 8th.
Thank You to all the people who offered to help.

Sometimes Miracles do happen and we all think one is happening to NEO!
I will update more about his condition later.
We also have Daisy back again!

Still no improvement with NEO.I had to wrap his back feet up because they are getting raw from him dragging them.We did find out that we could have a ct scan done for 5,000 dollars but its unlikely that we can raise that kind of money!Then if he needed surgery that would be several more thousands of dollars and even then the out come is unknown!
NEO'S out look of all this is .whats going on,whats all the fussing over me for?
Its like the fromt half is still like it always was but the back half is dying!
On his xrays the spine look very bad, but the hip joints looked great!What can we do but try to make NEO as happy as we can until his time comes to an end.

BAD NEWS HITS US AGAIN!

Bad new for NEO!
NEO woke up yesterday paralyzed from the chest down from several bad discs in the middle of his spine!
The out come is not looking good at all!
We will see if he improves over the weekend,if not it may be time to say goodbye to a great buddy and pal to me and Corey but mostly difficult and heart felt for Neil as he is his constant companion.NEO will leave a legacy of beautiful pups he sired with NIKKI!
Those of you that know Neo will remember him as a noble giant with a heart of gold!
Please pray for NEO we need a miracle!

85.5 pounds today!

Took Corey to the vets to weigh him and he was 85.5 pounds.So we took a ride up to the mountians to give him a change of pace!

90 Pounds

Corey is at his ideal weight of 90 pounds!!!Thats over 40 pounds lost!
Corey had his 3.2mg injection of percorten on the 13Th of August
and is still on 5mg of prednisone per day.
I have been taking Corey swimming every other day,I still can't walk him on the tar for long because he drags his toe nails and they wear down,but he can run on grass and walk on floors okay.It's good to have a some what normal life again!

Corey update for 8/10/2009

Corey went to the vets at 11:10am for a check up and had his Lyme and DHLP + Parvo vaccination.
Corey is doing great on his diet, he weighed in at
93.5 pounds!!!

He was at one time over 130 pounds!!!
and is on 3.2 ml of percorten-v instead of 4.5 ml!
We are going to get him down to 90 pounds then start balancing his meds.
Its great when you have people that help and cooperate with you when you have a dog that has weight and health issues!

Corey Update for June 25 2009

Corey had his shot yesterday and WEIGHED IN AT 101 POUNDS ONE MORE POUND TO LOSE!Corey has been doing good!
We will have Daisy here again for a month or more,As she has gone through another surgery on her front leg.

No matter how little money and how few possessions you own, having a dog makes you rich.

Corey went for a swim today

Every year we have birds that raise there chicks in this tree next to the front door!

Neils mother passed away monday at 2.00 pm.I have known her for over 30 years and she was a great woman and friend to me!
We will all sadly miss her.

Kite Flying.

Went kite flying today with Skip ,Nikki and Corey.
Got the kite up 500 feet and we kicked back and enjoyed the great weather.

Daisy went home today.

Corey Update 4/9/2009

Corey had his Percorten Injection and also got a bath today!We also took Daisy and Corey for a short walk.
Here he is cleaning the cooled grill after i had grilled a steak for me.Corey is on a strick diet!!!

Daisy

Daisy is staying over again.
She really hasn't recovered from the attack that happened at doggy daycare,her right front leg still has an opened wound and one of her ears flops over.Daisy has had several reconstructive surgery's and may be having another soon.I must say the attack was much more brutal than i had thought and the trauma has effected her mentally and physically and im surpised that she can even walk!I will post some photo's later.
